For almost two decades Elly Simmons has worked for political and community groups, using her images to help publicize and celebrate their causes. Some of the organizations that she has worked with include: National Organization for Women (The Gloria Steinman Awards - Ms. Foundation for Women), Earth Justice Legal Defense Fund, School of the America's Watch, KPFA 94.1 FM Radio, Papier Mache Press, Journal of the Buddhist Peace Fellowship, The Veterans of the Abraham Lincoln Brigade. Equal Means Magazine, San Francisco Jewish Sanctuary Coalition, Rock Against Racism, The Paul Robeson Centennial Committee and Middle East Children's Alliance and Voices for Choice.

Elly's work promotes social change and supports community projects, an essential element to the expression of her values. Elly has roughly 800 images available.
